As you may have already gathered that the purbs can have a different dates every year, so in order to keep the system up to date you will have to run the update script, by upening the “updates” from your web browser i.e. type www.yourwebsite.com/path/to/updates/ in your browser. Otherwise you may have purbs being diplayed probably on the incorrect dates.

It may sound a little odd, but the feature enhancement was the key for this release. Now you can just run the update script in order to update the files, so you do not need to do things you did when you first installed this script. This process is fairly easy and allows the user to update the files with just a single click.

The updat script first checks the version with this website as this is where all the updated versions will be placed. The script then tests the installed version with the version from this website and if there are changes it shows a button which allows the update procedure.

Below are the two examples using Short Tags i.e. and Standard Tags i.e. , you can see both of them produce exactly te same thing.

Usage is very straight forward:

first extract the folder NanakShahiCalendar from the zip file in the directory where your date page is or will be residing, now include this line at the beginning of the file you want the dates to display.

Than place this tag where you want the results to appear, should print the date as 28th of Harh 539, also this tag will also produce exactly the same output.

Below are the available variables that can be used to display related results:

Nanakshahi Date and Purbs variables:
$nDate - Current date in the format “28th of Harh 539″
$gurbani - Hukamnama of current month
$gurpurb - Current Gurpurb
$itihasik - Current itihasik purb
$month - Current Nanakshahi month name

English Date and Holidays variables:
$engDate - Current date in the format “Friday 13th of July 2007″
$engHoliday - Current Holiday

As English calendar systems are available on the internet in many useful formats, I will not be paying much attention on this part. However I though that you might want to have this functionality within this system for generic usage.

Specifications: The website was needed to be very flexible for as the product range is increasing very fast, because of the products range it is necessary the system has to be easilly mantainable.

Our Solution: A complete Identity and website solution together with a very easy to understand management system. This website is developed on the very famous Open Source E-commerse system for stability and security.

Wordpress integration has allowed the possibility of changing the blog contents, and at the same time the “Recent Posts” section also gets updated with the latest 5 editted/added posts. The worpress integration using the same website theme was necessary for user friendliness, so I did it just for you people:)

Specifications: They asked us to develop an E-Commerce system so that they could sell their products online.

Our Solution: We developed a website using the most famous open source shopping cart for enhanced security and robust nature. The client can easily insert/edit products as well as categories together with extra images and attributes. The website also includes automated payment transaction through PayPal for secure transactions.

About: Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar is a Sikh Temple together with a Sikh community center, based in Southall UK.

Specifications: They wanted a Community website to display upcoming events and be able to communicate online with the community.

Our Solution: The website is designed to be easily navigatible as well as very clean. It includes a special events section in which the administrator can easily insert new events or edit previous events through the admin interface. A Calendar is also embeded in the website for an organised view of the events.

Specifications: They needed a whole new online identity to be able to distinguish amongst others, be able to display their plans to the public and educate the community about other faiths.

Our Solution: The design of the website reflected the connection of faith with the organisation. A banner was designed to fit the needs of the identity which included a logo like structure as well that best fitted with the theme of the organisation. A completely different colour scheme was adapted for the faiths info pages to better suit the subject.
